351 vacuum routing?
sooo.. what do i need its on a 67 so its emesions exempt. i defiantly want to hook up my advance but what do i do about my canister and where do all these hoses go on a edelbrock 4 barrlell.
i don't think a vacuum can would be necessary unless you have a big cam, and needed the additional vacuum to handle power brakes.
find a diagram for the Edelbrock carb- you should just need one vacuum line from the proper port (ported vacuum) on the carb to the vacuum advance. some people use full manifold vacuum for this, but i'm not planning on starting that argument up.
if you've got an auto tranny, you may need another line (full manifold vacuum) down to the vacuum modulator on the transmission.
As mentioned, unless you have an auto trans and/or power brakes, there shouldn't be much need for any other vacuum lines on a 67 (assuming it's a truck, as that's what this section is dedicated to). Power brakes would hook into the port on the rear of the carb, and auto trans modulator would hook to the other small port on the front, towards the drivers side.
not sure if it has cams though i bought the truck as is and got lucky that after a fe gaskets and freeze plugs and a battery she started right up.a freind i worked with found me the truck , said fixing on it would keep me out of trouble.
havent accually drove it yet but man its loud and scary soundin.
o btw do i just plug up open vacum lines??
so the big port up front is pcv and thats all thats hooked up,the big port on the side next to the fuel is wide open.could open ports lead me to lose vacumm and make my tranny shift rough ? i got a little bit of that going on too.
this 2 hose attachment thing with one side open. i bet if i plug that up my tranny will work better as well.
thanks you guys rock!
