Splitting vacuum lines?

Can I tap into the vacuum line between the carb and vacuum advance on the dizzy to use as the vacuum line I need to the tranny (C6)? I guess I just don't know if it will hurt the vacuum advance to tap off that line?
Thanks,
CHAZ

i used to work in a tranny shop. and you need manifold vacuum for the transmission modulator to work properly. the distributor uses a timed port of the carb.

I hope not, because I have the vaccuum advance attached to the manifold vacuum port on the carb (Edelbrock). The instructions for the carb said that the timed vacuum is for emission controlled motors, which since mine has all that crap removed it shouldn't be.

My question was just about splitting that line, do I loose any vacuum by splitting it, or will it be ok since it is the small vac line?

Thanks,
CHAZ
