you should pull the code to verify it (i would) but odds are.

did you know they updated the plug for this sensor.if it hasn't been replaced yet,you need to re-pin it.that's a joyous time.lol.
it's not hard really,just tedious.of course you should address your failing tach sensor as well you know.in fact id do this first because you know this is failing.then precede to read codes,then precede with the MLPS if need be.likely,but with another issue already,best to start there.
ideally;
remove all connections clean and apply grease.inspect and repair any wires if need be.clear codes.drive until light flashes.read codes,replace sensor(s). best to diagnose it properly.throwing parts at 'er can get expensive.

but the odds are,your pcm isn't getting what it needs from the tach and MLPS sensors.be it the wires/plugs or sensors themselves.
that should get ya going in the right direction for now.just remember,clean things up first.diagnose second.replace parts last.
You have changed the tach sensor on the IP gear cover? Does the tach work correctly now? How about the speedo? The VSS (vehicle speed sensor) is on the rear diff.
The E40D trans is controlled by the PCM computer, and needs good signals from the tach sender, VSS, MLPS, FIPL, a barometric pressure sensor, and a couple others I can't think of right now... Is your OD light flashing? The codes may point in the right direction...
