Is this silly?

I was looking at the truck sizing her up for some work this weekend. While Im replacing the fuel lines/o-rings from the bowl and fpr/pump, is it smart to replace the bowl heater, pump and fuel bowl as well? I was told to replace the bowl and heater and the fuel pump by a buddy of mine. Im wondering if its worth the money to do so...thanks

If your pump is not leaking and you get good pressure from the pump then id leave it be. A lot of people dont run a bowl heater, myself included, so it doesn't hurt anything even if it goes bad. But if you have the cash and just want to do it all then it won't hurt anything to do it. Fyi for about as much as it will cost you to do all that you could have most everything needed for an electric fuel setup.

I personally wouldn't bother unless they're giving you trouble. It's not THAT hard to get to this stuff.

Less complicated to find a leak. And better filtering and water separation

The big advantage and why I did it was no more leaks and the valley is now open. If you do this mod you will be surprised at all the tools you will find that you lost in the valley of death.

Speaking of finding lost tools Glenn. I found a 1/4'' drive extension I lost while doing my e fuel on top of my trans when I pulled it, which was over a year ago.

That's funny, I found the same thing when fixing my up pipes. Amazing how long a tool will stay in one spot, LOL.

I spoke with Jim Rosewood and he has the same truck as mine (pending my same mods) and his is his daily. He said if thats stage one sticks and other mods is the farthest my truck is going to go that an electric fuel pump he wouldnt do. He said for a pull truck or something of that sort its a must but with a street/daily truck its not needed. He said his runs great and still on the stock pump. Im gonna replace it while Im in there just to ensure when I go big HPOP and stage ones/tunes that everything is up to the task. Thanks for the words gents

if they make it out of the valley of death, they make it to the plate I just took off my truck where it leaks out behind the flywheel/flexplate.
I had a few stick chunks and some rubber seals that had fallen off from things.
