I have a 1996 F-250 ext cab. Both of my latches on the back of the seat have given up. They are the ones that let people get in/out of the backseat. Is there an easy fix for it or is it a major ordeal?
I was wondering what it is in there that operates them. The latch is up at the top of the seat and the mechanism is at the bottom. So I didnt know if it is a rod or cable or what. The covers will have to come off in order to fix them. I didnt want to do that blind and not know if they can be fixed or not.
If it feels like there is no resistance when you move the lever, odds are its the cable. Had to replace pass side on my 86 SC no biggie. Check with a Ford dealer for availability and possible pics.
That is exactly what it feels like GLR. The levers just flop around. Do they have eyeletts or something that the cable loops over? I dont have any idea what to expect whenever I get in there.
