I tried something this past weekend and got chewed out for it by a buddy. I removed the hose going to the boost pressure sensor, hooked up a pressure regulator to it, and pressurized the system starting at 15 psi. I sprayed all the joints and boots w/ soapy water and couldnt find any leaks. I repeated this process increasing the pressure until I reached 30 psi. He tells me that I could have damaged the valve seals and possible other parts. Any other input?
Second question is when I was pressurizing the charge air system I could hear air flowing, but could not find a leak. The exhaust did not have any air coming out of it, and I plugged what was coming out of the intake. Where is the air going???
Disconnect air filter. Disconnect the plastic dog house inlet tube connector. Connect the tool to the turbo air inlet tube.. (straight shot eliminating the dog house) Charge to 15psi. You will hear air rushing. Use soap water on boots.
Some Buddy. Chew you out for that and not directing you to the proper procedure? Sheeese.. Damage valve seals,? Not. Never,Nope
Noticed we need a "HOW TO" on the Road side help site on the procedure. Surprised no one has typed one up.
if you go to lows go to the plumbing and there will be the black pipe that looks like pcv there will be a flat cap the works great and is cheaper the 2 fittings.
