Luckily my 1/2" one survived, cause I'll need that to drill out the slugs holding in the 2wd parts next week...
Got my new spring bushings today and installed them, just gotta bolt the springs onto the axle and then next week I an pull the truck into the shop and get that axle under it!
I used a grinder for most of the slugs (or whatever they're called) There are a few you can't get at that way. I must have drilled them out??? Can't remember?
Next week, eh? Getting excited?

Yeah, I'm itching to get it in there. I have a month off from school now, but my wife's grandma is visiting until monday. Then I need to take a load of scrap metal in and transfer our stuff from storage to our new building...
I tried grinding the slugs on my '87 that I stole some brackets from but it took FOREVER! Maybe I need a new grinder wheel... Drilling went a lot faster. Looking at it there are definately a few I won't be able to drill but can probably grind off. For any others I might have to break out the torch.
Question for you: Was the passenger side rear radius arm bracket bolted on yours? On mine the pass. side is completely bolted on but the driver side has one bolt and slugs on the rest... Seems weird to me.
Yeah, I just need some gold metal flake paint and so massive slicks on the back! Maybe a wing on the bed! And wheelie bars! And a big scoop on the hood!
Mine were all slugs as well. I used the grinder to take the tops of the heads off, then depending on how stuck in there they were, I was able to get away using a punch and hammer on a few. Some of the last ones I had to drill out because of the brackets flexing.
Now all you need are one of those tiny chain steering wheels, LOL!
