Got the RSK bolted up, but still need to have my frame "box" brackets welded to the frame to finish it. Once that's done I just need time to remove the 2wd suspension parts and slide the dana 60 under it. I also want to install a new steering box at the same time because mine is really sloppy and getting the alignment done after the swap would be worthless with my current box on there...
Here's a few pics of the install so far, I plan to do a full separate write up with the pics all together once it's all done so this is just a teaser...
"Modified" RSK (had to cut the spacers off of the stock shackle bolt hole because the 4x4 frame has an indent and the 2wd is flat)
Holes drilled
Outside bolts installed
Frame Brackets (not finished)
Frame Bracket in place (not welded to frame yet, will fill in space between top of bracket and frame)
wow! cant believe you drilled all the holes! I used 2 out of three bolts on either side and then welded the rsk to the frame. The frames some hard metal to drill through. Looks good!

Yeah, that's for sure. It took me quite a while to drill through the frame, glad I had some good bits (still broke 3 smaller ones) and a big drill! Plus, the bracket pieces I made are from my '87 F350 frame, so they weren't any softer... Even without it welded in that thing is solid now!

I'm doing my best to take pics of anything important. I was just excited that I got this much done over the weekend so I wanted to share. I want to do one big post later with all of the pics from beginning to end of the axle install.
Do me a favor and take lots of pictures of the RSK itself and the rear shackles supplied with the kit. I want to DIY my own RSK and integrate it into a front end hitch. Some good shots will make it a lot easier.
I'll try Nate. It isn't complex at all. Just build the end plates like in the first picture I posted, then a tube across connecting them. The rear shackles are just a H style that goes inside the rear spring bracket and outside the spring eyes.
You could probably build one with a square tube across the front instead of round and weld a receiver tube to the bottom of it. The cross bar on mine would be too low to put the hitch receiver below it, but you could mount it on top of a square tube so it would be higher up... I am planning on building a front bumer with integrated hitch receiver for my truck sometime in the next year.
I installed my IC just after getting the RSK in. Had all the parts and the truck was sorta 'down', so why not. I think I broke 2 large bits and several small ones. My poor drill was nearly finished by the time I was done. Soooooo worth it!
I want to get another set of shackles like these for the rear shackle flip that I did. The stock ones are just not designed for this.
