Bought some of their so-called "oem replacement" carpet for my 89 f150 and it was horrible carpet. Either they sent the wrong carpet or people are just throwing this junk in and calling it good. They made sure to remind me they sold over 1,000 of the same kits yet when I search I cant find anyone who has installed it in these series trucks. Anyway here is a video I put together to show ACC the mold didn't fit, I was told a refund in 24hrs and its been 4days. Needless to say I will be trying out the Nifty carpet to see how well that stuff is. These ACC gooks were very unhelpful.
You are the 1st person I have heard complain about ACC. You have to let the carpet warm up and settle to where it needs to lay. After being rolled up in a box for a month or more, I wouldnt expect it to lay flat
Some time ago I bought the ACC OEM type padded replacement for out 86 Mustang. The original was short on the passenger floorboard. The ACC is identical. The carpet won't quite reach up to be pinned down neatly by the kick panel trim. Which sucks. Can't complain too much as the original was the same way, other than that I thought it was very well made. Thick stuff. I put it in tthe middle of summer and it still took a few days to settle down in the car.
There are only two major makers of oem replacement carpets in the US. ACC and Thrifty which are both only trade names for the retail market. I had a bad experiance with the Thrifty because it too was cut short on one side, and was a poor moulding fit. After researching around I decided to just redo the original carpet, which turned out great. The oem replacement quality was poor, light padding and thin carpet. Good luck in your search.
Yeah I have searched high and low and will probably try and snag a decent one from a truck at my junkyard. ACC people are far from helpful. They had no other explanation as to why it wasn't fit to my floor pan. I gave the carpet about 4 days in 100* sun from Colorado to bake the carpet. Still did nothing, not to mention the so-called jute padding on these is nowhere where its supposed to be. It was further up the firewall with what little was left due to having to trim off the front to fit up the firewall.
