Replacement Carpet Reviews
I'm in the market for some new carpet for my '81. I was looking at some vendors online, but before I pull the trigger I wanted some input from other members about their experiences. So...
Where did you purchase your replacement carpet?
Quality of the product? Fitment? Pics?
Customer service opinions?
Would you buy again from the same vendor?
Thanks ahead of time!

I did some research last year on replacement carpet for my 1995 F150 extended cab. I found out that there are only 2 or 3 manufacturers for the replacement carpet. I ordered one from a sister company of JC Whitney, but I don't recall the name right now. The carpet quality was half of the factory original in regards to thickness of the padding and the carpet density. Even though they claimed it was form molded, it did not fit that great. I followed the instruction included to make sure it would fit, but whoever trimed it at the factory was short by 1 inch of making it the correct width. You couldn't tell it was short until you installed it. I took pictures and returned it after calling customer service. I had no problem returning it with all the documentation I had of the installation process. I ended up cleaning the heck out of the original factory carpet and it looks great. I wanted my truck interior to be like original, so the after market quality was poor to my standards. I hope this helps.

I've used Auto Custom Carpets in 3 of my previous trucks and was always happy with what I got. Used their carpets in a 1992 Dodge Diesel, 1993 Chevy Silverado, and a 1997 Dodge Diesel.
They always fit really nice and looked great. I also used their rubber floor kit in a 1994 Dodge Diesel I had and it fit better than the factory rubber floor.
I'm still on the fence about carpet or rubber floors in my F-250, but either way whatever I buy will come from ACC.

I bought an ACC replacement for my truck too, through LMC 3 years ago.
It was a good molded shape; I had to trim slightly & cut seat-belt slots & the dipswitch hole. But, as planehunter said, it's not as thick or long as the original, & has a more 'synthetic' look.
Still fine though.
I would have had the original carpet commercially cleaned, it was still mainly in good condition - but the previous owners had used it without a mat & worn a big hole through to the cab floor just on the drivers side.

I bought my floor mat from them. Dang good stuff just sucks having to cut all the holes.

I used them too and had to do a little cutting. I don't know why they bother to ask you if you have a manual tranny. There's no hole cut. I had to do it myself. Other than that is fit great. I also went with the Mass Backing. I used the Peel N Seal from Lowes for sound deadener (works great). It's really quiet inside now.
But I think you'll like their carpet. Just follow thier instructions.

I know you're asking about carpet, I was going that way then decided on rubber instead.
Did an ACC rubber floor in my truck, original carpet was shot from years of launching boats.
Quality of the actual rubber is excellent, very heavy duty. Lots of trimming/cutting/punching holes and it's not thin stuff, very durable. As Nolan said, they ask if you have manual tranny but they don't cut holes for that - odd.
Fitment was fair - I let it heat up in the sun so it was a little easier to work with. I still have some bagging near the accelerator pedal which I hope works itself out with use.
I would definitely suggest additional backing material though. I ordered the EVA sound deadening kit from LMC and might as well lit up a $50 bill and smoked it. Piece of *****. Get dynomat or something else. The ACC kit comes with jute but only goes under the passenger foot area, not even under the seat (standard cab).

Thanks for everyone's input, I appreciate it guys!
Oh, dilemmas... the truck is being built mainly for towing my toys out to OHV parks (that's right, I'm ditching the K2500... I've had about enough of the POS). It's going to have days where I'm filthy dirty and covered head to toe in mud... maybe a rubber mat would be better suited to these duties. Hmmm...
