Aftermarket Replacement Carpet

I need to replace my carpet but friends have purchased some of the commonly offered replacement molded carpets in the past and had them not fit correctly.

What brands have you guys had good luck with?

Whatever brand you go with, don't use JC Whitney - The carpet I got sucked.

I think JC carries a couple of different brands. One I think is called Steel Horse, another is NPI (nifty). I just don't know which brand is good and which is bad. I'd hate to buy one that didn't fit.

Also, I checked MotorHaven here and only saw carpet in black (I need red).

I bought from J.C. (the NPI brand), and fit great into my 77 shortbed 4x4, and also my 78 longbed 4x4.

Just my 2cents worth.

Mine is a 4 speed and I need red. Unless I'm doing something wrong, I can only find 1 carpet on motorhaven and it says Black and not for 4-speed.

I'm looking for a good quality, and nice fitting carpet, Mil1ion, your suggestion lists 73-79 standard cab 4x4 but doesn't state 4speed or auto. Does anybody know if the carpets will cover all the way to the back of the cab?

On standard transmissions truck YOU have to cut the hole as they make them for the cab and the size of hump not whether it's standard or not.
I know they have quality carpet though.

cjcathey2002! You say you purchased gray and it fit well, I'm looking for gray carpet also. Do you have a web site for or a phone # ? and does the carpet go all the way back to the cab? or does it stop half way under the seat? Thanks!

Most places that sell carpet offer partial carpets (firewall to the seat) and full length carpets (firewall to back of cab).

Be sure you get the correct carpet. The center hump in these trucks are different heights - auto trans has a short hump while 4spd or 4x4 have the taller hump - so carpet for auto won't fit correctly in a 4spd or 4x4 - Ask me how I know.

has carpet kits that fit very nicely. They go all the way to the back of the cab with plenty to spare. They also have the heat shields and sound deadeners. All fit very well. Just be careful when you cut you hole for the shifter (4x4), if so equipped. They have red, gray, blue, burgundy, saddle and black.
I've have completely redone my interior all courtesy of.
