Thinking about putting some stiffer springs on my f350 and i found some on a 97 fsuperduty that was an ambulance, it has an impressive set of springs and helper springs too! Im pretty sure they are too long tho, can anyone up here confirm whether they will or wont work without me going way out my way to the junk yard to measure them again?
I bought some new take off springs off of an ambulance and installed on my old 79 wrecker.
It lifted the rear quite a but, and I had to drill out my spring hangers, but the length.
The company that built the ambulances where I got them changed out the springs for softer springs for the ride, so you may not be getting what you think you are.
If you are just looking to stiffen your suspension you may want to consider using air rather than possibly stiffening it too much with the springs you mentioned.

This will probably be more expensive than a set of springs from a junk yard, but I think long term you would be far happier with ride quality.
I'd use use the main leaf and every other leaf with the air bags for ride and capacity. Adjust the air pressure to where you want it to ride and you
are good to go without losing a kidney.
