You have to remove the gauge surround to get the cluster out. There are a couple of screws under the horizontal trim pieces that run below the gauge cluster, so be sure you get those out before you start yanking on it. The trims just pull off, then remove all the screws, and remove the surround. After that you pull the screws that retain the gauge cluster (I think there are four of them) and pull the cluster. You'll be able to see where the bulbs go in the back side of the cluster. Sorry I'm not 100% sure how many of them there are without looking at the cluster on the bench at home.
its no prblem nate im shure i can figure it out from there. i dont know if its my eyes or what, but when im driving at night i cant see a darn thing, especially in the corners. but for shure im taking care of this today. im thinking instead of getting the same old green bulbs, i might just add a little bit of a more flashy bulb... the l.e.d. but i dont know if those exist? ill find em. thanks guys.
Yeah you might just have a bunch of them that are burned out. I think Talyn put LED's in his truck and had a hard time finding ones that would provide a diffused light that would light up the whole area that the bulb was supposed to illuminate. Good luck at any rate.
My apologies Jacob, I was thinking it was Talyn that had done this recently but it much have been your thread I was reading. Got to give credit where credit is due. Good job man. Reps sent.

No worries man. William is a big fan of LED lighting too from what I understand and has mentioned it quite a bit.
Nope, I just neglected to tell you that you have to remove the **** from the headlight switch first. There is a little spring steel clip on the **** that just grips the steel rod that actuates the switch. Pry that clip toward the front (I think) of the **** and then it will pull off the rod. The switch itself is mounted to the dash and not the surround. The tank selector switch just unplugs if I recall correctly.

1. Vehicles with tilt column, position steering wheel (3600) in full down position.
2. Vehicles with column shift, set parking brake control (2780) and position shift lever to the lowest position.
3. Unsnap the right and left molding by carefully prying on the notches at bottom of moldings.
4. Using a small, flat-bladed screwdriver, release retaining **** on back of headlamp switch **** while pulling **** away from shaft. Remove (unscrew) trim bezel located behind headlamp switch ****. Remove the two exposed screws under the right and left molding.
5. Unsnap five retaining clips by pulling the instrument panel finish panel (044D70) rearward starting with the two at the steering column (one each side) and then the three at top of instrument panel finish panel.
6.
NOTE: Wiring is connected to instrument panel finish panel.
Disconnect the wiring connectors from instrument panel finish panel.
