got it fixed both starter and solenoid switch was bad

OK soo. Can you still buy 4 post motorcraft solenoid for a 1984 460.. can't seem to find them in 4 post.. or is there a good way to convert to 3 post.or (2 big and 2 small) to (2 big and 1 small)

there's no need "to convert" anything.
Just buy a solenoid with the "I" terminal for a 1970's application.

The Standard Blue Streak 581 is a '70's style with the cylinder mounted vertically.
Standard 613 is a four terminal style with the same 'plate' mounting as our trucks.

Both should be around $20
