I think what they love is the price, Gibson headers are about half the price of the banks.

I did not have good luck with the gibson header on my jeep tj. I cracked 2 headers in less than a year. So, when it came time to do the Ex, I stayed away .

I'm not saying they are bad! Just saying I did not want to chance this on the Ex because the removal and install process is much harder than the jeep.$$.

Yes that is correct.

njneer1,
Yes, the Banks "PowerPack" kit for v10 Xs includes headers and they enjoy a very good reputation. They seem to be the best, even better than the Thorley headers.

mustangz_04,
Thanks, your response gives me much hope! Why? Because I want Nitto Trail Grappler tires 315/60/20 (35" x 12.5" / R20) on Moto Metal MO951 wheels, 20x10, 8 on 170, ET -18, BSM 4,79, on my 2004 X V10 4x4 that will get a 4" ProComp suspension lift. So, this combination should not create any rubbing issue.

I am planning to put 35"x12.5"/R20 (=315x60x20) Nitto Trail Grapplers but am a bit worried about rubbing issues (leafs, fender, undercarriage, etc.). Some say the 35"x12.5" will fit the 4" lift with a minor rubbing issue at full turn. Could you confirm that? What is your advice? Thanks a lot!!

PS: I sent you a couple of messages on Youtube some weeks ago and you recommended me to sign up to this forum - so, here I am!! Thank you for this great advice!
Thats great you joined FTE, a place for learning! You may be clear of leaf rub having bought aftermarket rims. I think the real solution is after market rims with an offset. This was highly recommended by the spring shop at the time of the lift. I did not have the extra money and I happen to like the factory rims. My tires do rub the leafs at full turn. I just avoid making full turns, I don't mind making a few extra moves. The only downfall is it did chip off a minor amount of rubber from the furthest inner tread on the inside of the tire - its honestly only noticeable upon close examination and has not noticeably affected the ride quality. I think you made a good choice with these tires. They ride very quietly and straight. On another note, I did not get a name brand lift. I had a local spring shop add leafs, added two in front totaling four on each side. Another option to aviod leaf rub may be wheel spacers? I don't know anything about wheel spacers as far as disadvantages or if even needed.. Hope it works out great for you. Sounds like its gonna be a nice truck.

Scott,
Thanks for your response. I can't wait to get my X and I'll post photos of it asap.
Btw, my aftermarket rims are Moto Metal MO951, 20x10, 8/170, ET -18, BSM 4,79. So, my rims seem to have a negative offset (i.e., outset) of -18.
I'll keep you posted, best regards
Stefan

I had a different experience with the Trail Grapplers not ridding quietly and straight - are you referring to the Terra Grapplers in your signature or have you run the Trail Grapplers. For me the Trail Grapplers only tracked well at low PSI - too low for towing at maximum weight. They were also very loud as I could not hear the third row passengers. They are louder than the 35/1250-20 Toyo MT's we have on another vehicle. I had the Terra Grapplers and would agree that they track well and are quiet.

I thought maybe you had - thanks for clarifying. Easy to do. I agree 100% with you on the Terra's. Just did not want the OP to get the wrong impression of the Trails. The Trails work if you do not mind the noise and can run at 45 psi. The Trails do have a awesome look.
