Ok, that definitely looks like a stock for your application carb. I don't know why it would have had a heat tube since it has the electric choke. You should be able to put a short piece of 1/4" tube and a compression fitting on the threaded fitting on the choke and hook it to the tube on the top of the carburetor. That's what Holley does with their electric choke systems.
I'll either do that or just plug it off again, since I actually got it to crank and idle that way. I was just up at Autozone and got the guy to look up the available carbs for my truck. He has listed a reman carb by a name I forgot, but not Holley, that has the same choke as mine. I'll bet my original that could not be matched had the diaphram pull-off.
Check the last pic. My finger is on a metal bracket with a halfmoon cutout that something used to attach to. It uses the curved metal spring clip that holds rotor caps in place. Know what this might have been? Probably was removed when the smog pump connections were removed. Looks like it might have held a diaphram or solenoid switch of some sort.
Thanks, Lebaron. Got the carb at a friend's with a nice bench and light and more tools. Will install most of the kit and reinstall later this week after the rain stops. I've been cruising earlier forums; Might get a spring pack for the secondaries and see if they are opening too fast. Also check the EGR... Later.
