Spare tire question
Those of you who have bigger than stock tire sizes; what do you do for a spare? I just put 305/70r16's on to replace the 265/75r16's I bought the truck with. It still has the original 235/85r16 steeltex a/t spare underneath.
If I go on a longer trip or am towing, I want to have a spare incase of a blowout. What does everyone suggest for spare tire duty?

The second I bought my truck, spare was removed lol. This is my plan, TireGate.com - The Ultimate Spare Tire Carriers! piece of mind with added security. I have a tonneau so you won't see it either. For a spare I have a 31 x 10.5. In the winter I run 235's so a 33 spare would be to big and a 235 spare would be to small for the 33's in the summer If ya get me

The difference in diameter between a 235/86/16 tire and a 305/70/16 tire is only 3.33%. With the 305 tire, at 60 mph indicated on your speedometer you would be actually traveling at 58 mph. Hardly enough to matter especially with an open rear end.
