Seems like I read someone had gotten a 295/65-20 to fit, but I'm not 100% positive. I can tell you that a 37" will not fit -- I'm in the process of making a rack to bolt into my bed to hold one. Here's the basic premise. I built it out of PVC to make sure it worked before I bent it up in 1.75" tube.
What size is the stock spare on the 20 inch wheel trucks? Saves me climbing under this thing on a gravel driveway.
If it's like mine, you have the wrong spare. I already went a few rounds with Ford and the dealership where I purchased the truck and they will not change the spare. Ford's answer is "while we do provide a spare wheel and tire, the one provided does not necessarily have to fit/match the vehicle". In other words, If you have 20" wheels on the truck, most likely you have a 18" wheel as a spare and when you do the math, the spare tire is an inch shorter and runs about 3 inches of less travel in one rotation. Ford says to only use it in an emergency with very limited range. I purchased a spare 20" wheel and another matching tire to go with the others on the truck.
LT275/65R20 = 34.1"
LT275/70R18 = 33.2"
In regards to what will fit, One member here says he put a 37" under his truck but I would need to search back over the last month or so as that is where I had read the post.
Edit - I found the post and the guy says he has a 37" under his 2011 truck.
The stock spare wheel is an 18”. How much should I expect to pay for an alloy 20” take-off?
I found reman takeoffs are around 300 give or take and there are some that sell off-brand for around 240 or so. You might find them cheaper if you find someone that came with 20s but they changed out to another style of wheel.
