After watching the video I have some questions...How often should the batteries be replaced? Are Ford remotes programmable?

The battery will last for a while, depending on much much you use your remote though. Usually when you start noticing your remote won't work as far as it used to when you lock and unlock your doors, that's the sign that the battery is starting to go.

And as far as I know, the Ford remotes are programmable.
