Yup, replaces the factory one. I'm going to try and get a couple of videos with my Drift camera today (one now that the stabilizer's replaced, then another with new shocks on) since I have a before video of what my truck does over rough parts of the road:
Got the Rancho's on, another big improvement... I have the fronts set to 6 and the rears at 4. Will drive it a for a few days like that and then switch it up to see what I like. I'll try and get a video together in the next few days. I wasn't able to grab one before adding on the shocks, I was on borrowed time today and had to get through the install.
One item to note, if you plan on doing this, hit the shocks with some PB Blaster before hand, makes a huge difference. My front driver shock without PB took as long as the other 3 did with it, was rusted on there good.
Not yet, gonna work on those today. My wife keeps buying xmas decorations, so those had to go up (happy wife = good day, lol)...
I did manage to get the new steering stabilizer on though (Carli Bilstein 7100). MAJOR improvement over stock, doesn't dip into every hole I drive through, holds straight. Took longer to jack the truck up (to check clearances, etc before driving) than it did to switch it out (30mins total with hand tools, never got the air ratchet out).
Thats a nice looking piece man..
Whats that nub on the end for?

Nitrogen, the 7100 is adjustable (as opposed to the 5100 which is not).

Makes me want to change things up more and more. lol.
Yeah, I'm anxious to get the camera back out and see what it looks like with all the new parts on there. It's been raining the past couple of days and although the camera is water resistant, water on the lens ruins the shot.

very cool.. Adjustable is definatly a nice thing to have.
And yes.. wet lenses are not so cool.
I have tried them all: Rancho 9000s, Bilstein Hds and now Bilstein 5100s. I think I'll likely stick with the latest set. So that said, I'd be willing to part with the other two sets which are lightly used:
ranchos - approx 15k mi
bilstein hds - approx 20k mi
Jlalanas and Matt,
Any concerns about the finish on the 5100 shocks and the 7100 stabilizer rusting out with the salt? I was going to go with the HD figuring that the finish on them might hold up better.
I know that whatever I get will eventually rust out....I just don't want it to happen the first winter LOL.

Yep, that's my main reason for not going with the 5100's this time. I had them on my 2000 and 1 winter out here in Pittsburgh and they looked pretty bad. That was after having them on for 5 years in AZ, where I was able to keep them polished pretty good. I'll check my computer at home and see if I have a more recent pic of what they looked like before I sold it. They sure look nice all polished and clean though!

That's a good point, but even my HDs and the Rancho 9000s developed a little rust around the welds. I would expect the same with the 5100s but not concerned that the shock body itself will rust through...I drive about 40k a year, so I think that i will either trade in the truck or be replacing the shocks before time takes a significant toll on the shock tube.
