I have a 300-6 and e4od and the truck won't crank or anything. I have been thinking of swapping engines. Will a 3800 series 2 bolt up or a 3.3 dodge van motor? might be a dumb question.....if anybody knows what might be wrong with the current setup please help....
Sounds like you need to see why it isn't getting spark...
Is the fuel pump priming, getting fuel to the rail, etc?
I'd keep the 300, as trying to fit a completely different engine is both futile/useless.....Because by that time you coulda had the 300 running, or a 302/351w slammed in an running..
Also, less hassle with trying to track down parts for a totally different brand of engine....
Are your dash lites and whatnot coming on? Checked the wiring to the starter, cleaned the batttery terminals, checked any relavant fuses? I always look at the simple stuff first, then start diggin' deeper.

How could anybody know what is wrong with your truck based on the information you have provided. There are lots of very skilled and experienced Ford truck guys here(and a few gals too I'm sure) but you're gonna have to provide LOTS more background info to get any usefull suggestions.

ok.....This piece of crap has had bad registration voltage from the day i got it and was hoping i would be able to fix it... It ran good (started really hard) but after about 200 miles it wouldn't want to run so I replaced the Throttle Position Sensor and the Fuel Pressure Regulator and it ran like a swiss watch again. Then after about 50 more miles, it would crank all day long but wouldn't start/run unless you fully cut off the air intake. I then recharged the battery. When I hooked up the battery, I turned the key to "on" and then back off....I then turned the key back to "on" and it seemed fine. I turned the key to "start" and there was a click and every single light on the dash went out and it's totally dead now. (and yes I did hook up the battery correctly....) I am hoping i don't need a new computer for the damn thing
