Engine Swap
I am doing research, for my 1992 F-150 5.0 XLT, in an attempt to learn and apply as much information as possible to the restoration of my first truck. I am 100% an amateur and there is a lot of things I do not know/understand about the technical side of automotive repair/engineering. I purchased a crate engine, or at least I think that is what it's called, and installed it but never could get it running. It has sat for about 2 years now and I want to revisit it this summer. With all that being said here is my question.
-Does anyone have any tips or lessons they learned the hard way that I should keep in mind?
-Where should I start?
Additional info:
--fuel Injected
--It has been so long I can't remember who I purchased the motor from. It was online and they delivered through FedEx freight.
--When I turned the key it did not engage started (I think) again it has been 2 years since I've worked on it.
Any insight would be appreciated, thank you.

Lots of knowledgeable people on here are more than willing to help. We're gonna need a lot more information, first. Who did you purchase the crate engine from? Fuel injected or carbureted? What was it doing/not doing? Did you check for fuel, spark? Timing? What modifications were done, if any? Did you try contacting the seller/manufacturer of this engine?
