Dim headlights on my '05' are killing me! Help please.
mmm635: Thanks for the link! It looks like you did a great job. I do have one question... how can you tell that the projector lenses aren't that good? Just from seeing the light dispersion, etc.? I also noticed you had to do a lot of cutting and fine tuning to get it to fit your frame. I wonder if you know anything about these:
Ford F250 Super Duty 2005-2007 Clear Dual Halo Projector Headlights wi | A103IBSX101 - TopGearAutosport
They are supposed to bolt right into my '06 without any cutting and/or mods. There's another set on the market for double this price, and so I wonder why these cost half as much. The other ones that are double the price are here:
Recon Projector Headlights | Recon Halo Projector Headlights
Once again, these bolt right up, as well.
Yahiko: As for choosing a relay, any recommendations? I assume I search for a 12 VDC relay that is capable of handling 10A or so? If my bulbs are 55w then the current would be a little less than 5A, but do I need much overhead? Also, for the "trigger" side of the relay, is there a maximum amperage they can handle? If so, how do you determine this? I just want to make sure that I get the right part for the job. Doing a quick search I found this:

I could use this relay along with a 20A fuse (using 12-gauge wire) to hook up my lights. It even has an optional wiring harness for the female side of the equation. Speaking of wiring, should I run both lights off of one side, or should I use 4 relays (two for each side) coming from each battery? Is this unnecessary? If I run both sets of lights off of one side, should I still run a separate ground wire from the negative bulb wire harness to the chassis for each bulb?

I have been wondering if on my 03 f350, the daylite running circuit isnt controling somehow, the main at nite headlite system. Here in canada daylite running lites are manditory, my head lites are very dim, i am going to try a set of 65W bulbs, redo all grounds, and measure voltage at bulbs, before and after. My lenses arnt yellowed ( they are new).
