They will work, but he will need to do some wiring.

There are tow mirrors without the signal and heat though. Those will go right in without any extra wiring.
Be aware, there are two different connectors for these mirrors. A round and a rectangular. Your son's truck has the rectangular. Make sure the new mirrors also have that oh he will have to do wiring.

Trey do you think they absolutely wont be plug and play? I thought i read that if you get a later model 03 when the 6.0 diesel was already out, that the lights and heat might work? because the lighted/heated mirrors came out with the 6.0? Im probably completely wrong because ive read so much on these mirror threads ha

It might be right. I cannot remember. That sounds like it could be right.

So if you have a 6.0, there is a good chance it will be plug and play.

Either way, they will bolt up perfectly. Maybe you will get lucky, if not, just some simple wiring! Good luck!

In the beginning of THIS writeup, it will tell you how to remove the door panels. Same idea for the passenger side. You will need to remove them to access the connector for the mirrors, which will be behind the speaker. When you open your door, pull the black trim piece straight back and you will see two bolts there, and then pull the top and bottom rubber plugs out and you will see the last two bolts for the mirror.
