If the pins fit I don't see what it would hurt

So, i pulled the pcm out of a 94 5 speed parts truck, plugged it into my truck, not even sliding it into where it goes, because i lacked ambition to move the inner fender out of the way. As soon as i hit the key to the start position, it fired right up!! thats odd since i had full communication with my original pcm with the snap on scanner, i would not have guessed that was the problem. especially since all i did was turn the truck off, and it just never started again. hopefully thats actually the issue, could one of those chaffed wires been the cause?

any how, it idles smoother than it has in a long time, IPR o ring kit or cleaned up fuel bowl may have helped that

unfortunately , my truck being an automatic, means i still cant drive it with a 5 speed pcm.

Have you tried it on the original PCM again? Maybe it was just a connection problem at the connector, and unplugging/re-plugging it will do 'er.

I'm not sure I would try the chip in the new PCM , Chips are PCM specific as far as I have read ....

tach moves w both pcms, i tried the original pcm after the 5speed one, and it still didnt work. i talked cody from php, and said the chip should work in a different pcm.
though the tune was for an auto, it will not control the tranny with the 5 speed pcm.
