I plow with my f250 and have for ten years. I dont own a set of chains nor ever had a need and I do some pretty steep drives. With decent tires and weight in the back ive never had a need. I would say you dont need any but thats just my opinion.

I suspect the man has moved just a bit of snow in the last 10 yrs.

He gets SNOW, we get slushy ICE here! Seriously though, I've had cable chains for my X since I bought it and they are still in the box. The newer cables available at Vulcantire.com are awesome. Look and see what you think, but you may not need them.

just a bit lol this November we are on path to break the snowiest November on record. the record is 38.8" of snow so far we have 32" fallen as of today with snow in the forecast the rest of the week.
I've only had to use them once - was pushing snow into a pile heading slightly downhill and went too far in and got hung up. Back tires were on the pavement, but it was snowing hard with the heavy wet stuff and I had not traction. I put the chains on both back tires and they got me out.
I also tested them out once after we had a storm and I was concerned about getting stuck; threw them on the back tires "just in case" and didn't have a problem with them.
They're not to be used driving around for miles and miles, but they work great for what they are intended for, don't take up much room (I store them under the back seat), and are simple to put on and take off.
