Acceleration problem
Does anyone have any idea why after i start up my 2002 7.3 and put in gear and step on the throttle the engine will not rev up and want to move. Other time i can get in it, and start it up, put it in gear, and away we go no problem.
The truck starts just fine.
The other problem is once in a while while driving down the hwy the engine will shut down and come back right back on.
These two thing are driving me nuts.

This sounds like the classic cps problem.Dealer has them for 25 or so bucks.

I am with Eric the no rev sounds like a TPS/IVS problem and the cutouts sound like CPS.

Brother had problems with the cps on his 7.3 but when it went out the truck would't start and when he did get it started and made it home it ran rough and couldn't get any speed out of it.
Could the cut out be caused bu the electronic module?
