problems with f-150 back up camera

I have a 2011 F-150 Super Crew and have had to replace the back up camera due to a malfunction. Once the dealer replaced it under warranty I was no longer able to get all the options that the previous camera had. Since then the 2nd camera went bad and I just had it replaced again. This new camera still is missing 2 of the options the original camera had. The dealer now tells me that they must have been deleted off the software on the replacement cameras. They were unable to verify that through Ford though. Does anyone have any suggestions?

the guidelines and the visual park aids. It is still on the menu and will let you change it from turned off to turned on but as soon as it says that it is turned on and you go back in the program it is turned off again.

That does not sound right. If they removed the option,I'd expect it to be gone completely.
I would check out a MY2012 on the dealers lot. If it does the same, then maybe the dealer is right.

my camera also acts up. I can turn on the guidelines and everything works fine till you turn off the truck. When you jump in to go again and put it in reverse the guidelines have disappeared and when I go in and check the computer again they show as being turned off. Have not taken it in yet but will have them check it out next oil change.

I need to take my truck in to the dealer because every time I wash the truck or it rains heavy, the camera malfunctions and the screen goes haywire. Has anyone had that happen?

re: 00XLT that is what my original camera was doing. Ford finally put a TSB out on it and they replaced the original camera. Now I have the other issue. I have not had any problems during rainy weather. Good idea to check a 2012.
