Cab Removal Help Please

Alright everyone I am making this account on this lovely forum because since I started working for the guy I am employed for currently you guys have been a TON of help. Problem is everything has been 6.0 related and now I am working on 7.3 diesels. Customer had a tree fall on his '01 7.3 and wants us to take the cab off a V10 with a blown motor and make it good again. I have decided to start with pulling the cab off the 7.3 so when removing the V10 cab I have a little experience under my belt.

Now onto my issue . . . I can find 6.0 write ups and the newer F series with the twin turbo set up cab removals but for the 7.3 I am lost, Google and about 3 other deisel forums have netted me nothing useful so I figure I'll just start pulling things apart based off of common sense and go from there.

Also if there is any differance between the Gas cab and Diesel cab wiring I need to be made aware of that would be great too. Thanks for any help and wish I had a camera I would just make a write up for this lol

Thanks I appreciate the kind words. I'm in the process of yanking it right now and it seems to be going smooth enough. Just annoying pulling so much stuff. I feel like this guy

that is one of the best things about the 7.3 the cab dont have to come off like all the newer ones that is why there are not many threads out there.

A short list I copied off another site. May be short a couple items.
e-brake cable, trans shifter or shift cable and cooler lines, fog lamp connector, fan and shroud, ic tubes and boots, batteries, wiring harness, bat wires, ground on the firewall, battery grounds, starter wire, and ground under passenger side front door, disconnect the tranny/body harnesses under the fusebox under the hood, steering shaft, brake lines and ps lines, abs wires in the wheel wells, and lay the ac compressor over to the side (no need to evac ac). then unbolt the cab bolts from inside and away you go. Dont forget if you have any misc wires for a stereo or your gauges.

What year is the cab on the V-10? They changed the layout of the instrument panel in 02, so that will have to be swapped along with all the wiring attached to it.

If it were me, anything that could be yanked out wiring wise would be swapped from the crushed cab into the new one. That way you know the wiring is right and everything should work right (in theory....)

Ya that sounds about right. I'm following a 6.0 cab removal from another forum which so far seems to be pretty much the same so crossing my fingers.

Ya that's the same thought I had as well. The diesel is an '01 and I'm not sure about the v10 but I'll post when I find out.

Yes that is but in my case a tree fell on the truck and a new cab is the only way to fix it lol The truck still runs and drives as I had the whole warehouse complex laughing there *** off me driving this crushed truck around the building. So your right it is but I still prefer the 6.0 so far since I got into diesels but then again I don't know much.

Yep I'm a weird guy. It also has a lot to do with how the trucks that came with the 6.0 look and when I open the hood I like things to look a certain way and the other options just aren't as astheticaly pleasing to me lol It'l be a long time before I get a diesel truck anyways so I got time to do homework and maybe my mind will change.

Then I can throw a
