I know this does not pertain to the V-10 but if you want a new truck you may find this interesting. Ford is finally building the only auto trans that I would buy. We just got in a 2012 F-250 6 speed automatic 4x4 at work and I took it for a drive and all I can say is wow what an awsome towing transmission. There is a manual setting on the shifter and when you seclect it lights come on the dash 1 thru 6 and there is a + and - button on the shifter. Now for the cool part say you are going 40 mph in 5th gear at 1500 rpms and you punch it flat foot it on the floor IT DOES NOT SHIFT DOWN!!!! it will lug that gear intill you push the minus button to drop it down a gear or two if you want. If you put it in drive it acts like any other transmission it also has a good tow haul that will down shift to help slow the load down when it is in drive. Now you can be pulling a hill and put your foot to the floor and not have to hear your engine running at the red line on the tach (if you don't want to) sorry for the long post but to me this is the coolest new feature I have seen in a long long time. I don't think even the allision trans does that.
I forgot to mention the 2012 is a 6.2 gas not a diesel and it does seem to run well. The lie o meter was reading 10.7 avg mpg's thats not so good, but it's new and I am sure I am not the only one to run it through the paces it only had about 300 miles on it.
