7.3 No start

Hey guys, I have a 02 7.3 f450 that will not start, Ive read allot of the topics before I looked at it.. Here is what i have done so far.

1. thought it might be the fuel heater fuse, well the 02 has a different fuse panel than mine so I pulled each fuse to visually check them. All looked fine.

2. thought voltage was to low, jumped with another diesel to both batteries and added two jump packs (plenty of power there)

3. Thought it might not be getting any fuel, dumped the fuel bowl valve and no fuel... So I left it open and cranked it and it dumped a ton..

4. thought it might be CPS, so I ran over to Ford and got a new one and installed it.. No dice

I can get it to start and run off on either though so I would guess some how its not getting fuel??? as soon as I stop spraying the either it will die.. I did notice while cranking that the tach was not moving..

again its a f450 with no under the hood fuses, all are in the passenger cabin. thanks!

first i dont like either in a diesel can blow up the gp.
sounds like the injectors are not firing because the rpm is not getting a reading. i would check the wire to the cps and the plug end. the pcm may not be getting a signal from the cps and wont start the truck.

Did you check the oil in the hpop resivior? Maybe the nut on the ipr came loose. Connections on Icp,ipr, cps, and uvch.

I did not check in the reservoir, but I did pull the dipstick to make sure that there was oil.

How does the oil not get up there? also the nut on the IPR.. My 7.3 lost its nut (LOL) and everything seems to work ok.. what does the nut do because now that this is mentioned im sure mine will malfunction..

The nut is what holds the electrical coil in place on the IPR to properly activate the IPR.

If you were not getting oil into the HPOP reservoir, you could possibly have a failed LPOP(Low Pressure Oil Pump).

What I recall the '02's will not move the tach the same way as earlier models.

Correct, the 02's and 03's the tach will not move until the engine starts.
