This is my Brothers 86, It was featured on the cover of Petersens 4 wheel magazine back in 87 as it may have been the first 302 swap it has the running gear from a 1972 Bronco. These pictures are from a couple month's ago. Not bad for over 25 year old paint. I cannot even remember the last show it was in but had to be early 90's This is the truck that got me into modifying vehicles.
My in-laws just gave me a 1988 BII XLT that has been sitting in their driveway for at least 5 years. Only 111,000 miles on it. Just put new rotors and brakes on, still need to get shocks before it passes inspection. I've got lots of things planned for this ride.
Just picked up this nightmare day before yesterday. 86, 4wd manual, and one very hacked up wiring job. Going to spend my off week rewiring everything and hoping the previous owner didn't blow the EECIV. Not even sure where I'd get one.
Unfortunately I no longer have this beaut, but I'll take credit for building it. Started life as a stock 87 that my buddy handed over when I sold him a mustang I no longer drove. From there she transformed.
It was originally two tone blue and silver.
I removed the 2.9 for a 4.0 from a 93 Explorer. That was a direct swap as I had the donor sitting right next to it.
Axles were donated from a 76 F-150 so they made for a full width SAS. Gearing choice was 5:13's with ARB's front and rear.
Suspension was a mix and match of James duff Early Bronco to fit the Full Size axles and James Duff RBV custom stuff to compliment the EB stuff. Turned out pretty nice in the end.
