I'm not sure either. Probably not much. But yours probably has a computer ours doesn't.
Here is some pics of our 84 Bronco 2 and our new parts 84 Ford Bronco 2 both 4x4. We painted our wheels black on our 84 Bronco 2. (The blue and orange one is ours and the red one is the parts truck one).

yea its got the putter which is why i am not sure what it would take to convert. i have a 86 with the 2.9 and standard in the pasture would like to just use what i need off the 89 to put the older one on the road but its had some rough battles with kids and some with the deer herds and the 89 only has 85000 on it! Short of the power loss threw the auto its the better of the two<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o>

The 89-90 have a different dash. Not sure the pedal asy will bolt in between early and late. I like the TK-5 (Mazda) with the internal slave. The early std. trans have an external slave and clutch lines are no longer available. The TK's have a lower 1st gear that I like for off-road. Wraps out pretty fast on the street though. The M5OD (Mazda) was put in some of the late Bronco II's it has a first gear that is not too bad. Not as low as the TK but not as high as the 1st gear in the 4.0 M5OD. You can use the M5OD from behind the 4.0 that was in the Rangers and Explorers. Most folks use the 4.0 clutch and pp when they replace the clutch. Again not possible with the early trans with the external slave.
