Trans Oil Cooler
What is a good size trans oil cooler for a 95 F150 5.0L engine.I will be towing a travel trailer that weighs 3400lbs.The original cooler that came with the truck is 2" deep ,11" x 7 1/2".Is this one ok or do I need a bigger one.

You should be OK at that wieght with the factory cooler. I swapped in a after market when I started towing my 5th wheel down south in the summer time.

That all depends on the trans temp , if you don't have a gauge i would install one , then you know when you have a problem....Lew

What's a normal temp for the trans oil

My Truck with the factory cooler ran around 180 degrees running empty or with my horse trailer or 12K flat bed. pulling my 5th wheel down south in the summer i saw temps up to 200 to 210. With the new cooler empty is 150 and pulling my 5th this august max temp was 180.

I live in Arizona and in the summer it gets over 100 degrees,will the factory installed one be ok.

The cooler the better. Heat kills the E4ODs. Been there done that. almost $2000 for a rebuild.

I would use the 6.0 cooler if I were towing.
