For what AE is capable of, there is not another that I am aware of that is even close to comparable. I however do not have AE, I am familiar with it but do not own it. Before coming to this forum, I had purchased a SnapOn Solus, which is what I use, however, even the updates alone on it are far more expensive than the price of AE enhanced Ford bundle.
AE is probably the best deal out there. You may be able to pickup a used MAC or Snap-On scanner that is outdated for the same price. I have had mine for several years and it has proved invaluable.
With the ford enhanced bundle, am I able to use it to read the generic codes on other OBD2 vehicles? (ie: read codes on a chev truck?)
If I understand it correctly, it is a OBD2 reader, but the ford enhanced bundle gives you more detailed info for fords? And it should be able to read any OBD2 fords?
Ive been putting off buying one but now I have 2 7.3's Im also again thinking about getting one.
2 things have stopped me ..............
Im not sure I have enough knowledge of how the 7.3's work to make full use of the scanner?
Kinda like giving a carpenter surgicial tools , am I going to be able to use it?
And the second thing I would have to buy a laptop to hook it to so theres another couple hundred at least.
