So i just did tons of body work and painted my truck. the interior has been redone and im trying to decide what to do next. What kind of air intake system could i change to from the stock system? It is a 86' 4.9L L6 with the feedback carb system on it. Would changing the air intake do anything to help performance?
I'm not an L6 specialist. In fact, I'm not a specialist on anything. But, if you are still running the 1bbl carb you aren't going to gain anything by changing the air intake - assuming by that you mean the air cleaner and the associated snout and cold air hose.
The carb is the limiting factor in air flow. So, if by "air intake" you mean a different intake manifold and carb then the answer is probably yes. But, in that case you do need one of the gurus who have done it to chime in and not me.
