Help with 56 hood emblem removal

I'm having trouble removing the side hood emblems. They are held on by two nuts and several metal inserts with "fingers" that hold on to small posts. I can't get the "fingers" to release off the posts. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks.

The studs that the nuts go on some times break taking them off so put lots of penatrating oil on them. There is 1 of those pins behind the hinge brace, the others can be gently tapped with a light weight hammer along with some prying. Pushing in the emblem first might help loosen things up too.

Not sure about getting replacements for the clips... but most could be cut with wire cutters on one side and peeled around the studs. But then, I have to find a set of 56 f250 side emblems to put on my hood..... I have not pulled a set myself, so I could be wrong... just basing my theory on the many emblems I have pulled from various cars and trucks through the years.... I had a pretty good collection going for a while

Don't plan on using the clips again, as others have indicated they are almost impossible to save. Also the emblem is zinc die cast and not the strongest material.

I used a thin blade screwdriver and lots of penatrating oil. Worked one side then the other very gently. As stated above the litle studs will break real easy. I broke one stud on each emblem and I was really taking it slow and easy.

You can get the small barrel insert clips to replace the originals from Mid-fifties Ford.
