couple wks. ago bought a 1968 F-250,originally wanted to just make everything work,it's now morphed into a complete rebuild, empty cab shell in garage with new floor pans, currently gouging out seam sealer to reseal the cab, then to paint it's bottom, put it outside, bring the bed in and do it all over again. This particular truck seems to be quite the mix of '67&'68 pieces,3"front/2" rear power brakes, chassis mounted fuel tank with rubber plug on cab filler hole,'67 grill,'67 heater controls.I'am having fun deciphoring its oddities.Really surprised how many aftermarket parts are available. Will post periodically with questions for sure....

It seems awkward, but whenever you "insert a picture" to one of these threads, the forum is looking for the picture somewhere on the web (which is always available) rather than from somewhere on your hard drive (which isn't always available).
It would probably be worthwhile for you to try and decode the VIN.
It might also be worthwhile to contact Ford Customer Service ans ask them what they can tell you about the original condition of the truck.
If they tell you "25 Gallon Fuel Tank Frame Mounted with Standard Fuel Tank", it means someone's taken the tank out of your cab and it originally had dual tanks.

well heres wishing you good luck on your truck & I know what you mean my 69 has some 67 parts on the dash & it seems like the tail lights are 67 also. I don't get it myself, but oh well I still like my old hauler. best wishes on your project.
Parts were probably swapped from whatever year truck was in the junkyard at the time by the previous owner looking to replace something. welcome to FTE. This is THE place for info on Ford trucks.
