Teaching old dog new tricks

Having snow storm in the Red River Valley today so decided to develop a gallery for Joey's truck. If you go to his album you can see that there is proof of life on the project and that I have been trying to keep up with some of the chatter on the board. Now I need to learn how to post pictures with the threads. Have to give it a rest; the head hurts from this exercise.

It has been in some state of disassembly since the spring of 09 but proof of work since 2010. City police told me I could no longer have it out in the open until it appears to be a complete vehicle.

It seems awkward, but whenever you "insert a picture" to one of these threads, the forum is looking for the picture somewhere on the web (which is always available) rather than from somewhere on your hard drive (which isn't always available).

Go to Image hosting, free photo sharing & video sharing at Photobucket and sign up for a free account. Then create an album for your truck. Upload any pics you want to post on FTE to that album. Have this album open on your computer when you want to post pics on FTE.

While you're making a post on FTE, select the pic you want to post from your Photobucket album. When the large version of the pic is open, right mouse click on it and select "View Image Info". The image info will be highlighted and will look something like this:
The best photos and videos | Photobucket

Copy that highlighted info (right click / copy).

When you have the spot in your post where you want the pic to be placed, select the "Insert Image" icon at the top of the post (looks like a mountain) and paste (right click / paste) the image info you copied in the highlighted box (just shows "http://" when it opens).

Your pic will be placed in the post.

Hope that helps.

If you go to my profile and locate the album section you can see what has been done so far. When it comes to learning how to use the computer I am behind the curve; Know how to work on vehicles. Thanks for the patience.

Hey Gear Up,
Joey's truck looks great - that's a beautiful engine.

Don't give up on posting pics - If you are a member here it's very easy.
Just hit the reply button & look up above where you are about to type your message. There is a smiley face - right next to that is a paperclip
icon. Just click on that icon & you can browse through your computer harddrive & post what you want.

Good luck over there - Looking good in Minnesota!

Can't seem to locate paper clip icon you mentioned Ben. One other thing I need to find out before I post any more pictures and responces to this thread; does the vehicles discussed on this area need to be 48-56 inclusive? If so I will have to go elsewhere. I have been a member of this site since 01 and feel at home here.

Given the history of this truck I doubt that anyone would object. I think we would be honored. Nice looking work and good luck with it, I know it has a lot of meaning for you and your wife.

Hey Gear Up,
You are in totally the right place - don't worry about what year
your truck is. You have to be paid supporter to get the little paperclip Icon - I think it's 20/yr or so. It get's rid of a lot of the advertising too - which is nice.

Keep up the good work. I wish I had painted my engine - it looked good in bare metal so I thought I'd leave it be - now the waterpump is a nice rust color.
