Hey fellas, I have the vc's off my 7.3, have 165,000 miles on it. I'm doin the fifty cent while I'm in there, and I ohmed out the pins on the harness for each injector at around 3 ohms. I'm wondering if I should replace the injectors while I'm in there. I also noticed the rear injector is a different color than the rest. What's up with that? Would you change them out, and where should I go for stock injectors?
If you have the availability of it being down you could send them to be flow tested and cleaned or possibly rebuilt. I would not just change them personally unless you just wanted to do it, they're a little pricey to just replace because. The rear most on the driver's side could be a LL/AE(Long Lead) injector as it was a cure for "cackle" complaints, and offers a slightly larger pilot shot than the others.
Here's where I go for injectors, Clay also offers New stock replacements.
I'm not looking for any additional power, just hate taking my truck down and figured I might give it a shot since I've got access to them. I guess if it ain't broke a won't fix it on this one...
