I have an 03 f350 srw cc Fx4 with 182k.
The EGR valve (original) is sticking throwing an engine light, on and off.
Should I just clean it or unplug it and remove the Throttle Plate?
Would the EGR cooler work better?
Would it cause problems with the turbo or other parts?
Remember it an early 03.

The EGR opens and closes depending on throttle position. You can't just remove it or the throttle plate without blocking off the exhaust side.I would buy the EGR delete kit or replace the EGR valve if it is an original. Are you sure that's what is throwing a check engine light? I think the 03 models won't throw a check engine light for the EGR valve.
I took it to a friends shop and he read it. Didn't tell me the code just said it was the EGR valve.
I need to get a SCT xcal2.
I had an engine light come on about two weeks ago and I called him about it and he told me to bring it by. The next morning the light was gone. It came on again last week and I took it over and that when he read it. The next morning the light was out again.
