92 Ignition

This is neither an electrical or wiring question, but this was the closest thing to an ignition forum.

I pulled the lock cylinder out of the column the other day. While it was laying there, the key got pulled out. So the million dollar question is: does anybody know of any tricks to get the key back into the lock, or is this going to be a locksmith job?

Why will it not go back in? When you buy a new one in the store, it comes with a new key and it can be pulled in and out.

Honestly, if I knew why it won't go back in, I wouldn't be on here asking this question. lol

It slides all the way in, up to about the last tumbler pin and then stops.

Everything worked just fine clear up until the key got pulled out.
