Lost ignition key

Basically my friend said that I can have his 92 F-150 5.8 if I get it out of his backyard. Only catch is that he lost the ignition key. I do not want to spend any money on the truck because it's a POS. My question is how do I start it without the keys? I know a thief could get it started in 30 seconds, how do I hotwire it, or the screwdriver in the ignition technique?

Thanks

take the vin to a dealer and get a key, or get a lock smith to make a key for you. it must be worth something or you would not want it.

Take a chisel or large screwdriver and break the lock cylinder out of the column. Then go buy a new lock cylinder(about $14.00).

Here is a link where they tell you how to do it. I don't know what they are talking about when they tell you to take the whole column apart. I broke the cylinder out like they show in the picture, and didn't have any trouble taking it right out and replacing it.
