Yeah, the puddle lights turned out pretty good. Still working on the writeup and I'll post up a link when its ready.
I tried to size up my amber marker lights yesterday and found out that I need 4 per side instead of 3. I couldn't get the spacing I want with 3 so I have a few more on the way
By the way, here's the marker lights I'm going to use.
Can't wait for a write-up, looks great! Would love to see a close-up pic of one of the lights. Do these have a ground wire or just grounded by tightening the bolt?
The ground is just the stud that you bolt them on with. I actually ran a ground wire to each stud. Superbrightleds.com part number M11PC-A3. Here's a few more pics...
This drawing shows how I did the wiring for the lights and the next pic is a close up of one of the lights on the backside.
I brought mine inside the cab. Only reason was, I already had an easy way in on the driver's side. When I installed the Pop & Lock tailgate lock, the wires weren't long enough to go up to the firewall through the plastic plug (the way I normally get wires in/out) so I drilled a hole to poke the loom up through. So, I used this loom to get into the cab.
Problem with that was, I had to drill another hole in the pass side to match. Then had to snake the wire across behind the dash to the driver's side since there's no park light wire in the pass side loom.
Lighting projects are always fun and these ones didn't disappoint. I'm really surprised I was able to get all three done this time of year. Weather's holding out really well so far.
