Anyone out there had any experience, or knows of someone having some experience with Pirelli Scorpion All Terrain tires.
They have somewhat of an aggressive side to them. Planning on getting some new tires for my 2WD Edge but my billfold is kinda skimpy right now, so just curious bout these A/T's. They seem to have a better price than BFG A/T's.
I have heard mixed reviews on them.
I guess it depends on what you do.
On the other hand toyo open country are 97$ installed here
P265/75R16 The LT versions are slightly more. I like the BFGs but i wont pay an extra 60 bucks a tire for them.
I have Toyo Open Country A/T's on my truck and like them. My girlfriend's mom has Pirelli Scorpions on her Dodge Ram 1500 4x4. I don't like the tires, but then again, I hate the truck altogether... I haven't taken her truck offroad of anything like that, but I have driven it on the highway and around town quite a bit. Haven't noticed anything too bad about them on the road, but they don't look real agressive. She said that her truck sucked pretty bad in snow, but she didn't have much weight in the back either. My Toyo's even look more agressive than her tires, which are bigger than mine.
Again, it's kind of hard to say how well they really handle, because her truck has lots of slop and play in the steering. What kind of driving are you doing? Just road mostly or what? You may want to look into the Toyo's that I have and Rand is looking at, they do pretty good all around with good wear. Price usually isn't bad either...
As you can see in my signature, I have them, and I HATE them. They are almost new, have good tread left, but they are the worst tires I have ever owned.
I have also had Firestones, Good-year, BFGoodrich. I think the Pirellis are the worst out of all of them. My favorites were the BFGoodrichs.
The Pirellis are very prone to temporary flat spots, which ruin the ride quality. They are also noisy, and have a lot of vibration. They have been professionally balanced twice, and still they are harsh and ride terrible. You get what you pay for. I will never own another set of Pirellis.
BFs are more expensive, but they are the only way to go if you want a quality tire these days that has good all-terrain tread and a good ride quality.
ALL terrain bfg in my tire size is 160$$==no
Bridgestone REVO A/T is 130(very nice tire)=maybe
TOYO open country A/T 97$(installed) = WOO im a cheap *******.
