Truck steps?

being around 250 pounds I better get some frame mount steps

completely understandable. but if it helps any, my buddy weighs at least 285 and i had him jump up and down on them to test them out, and they held. but in all honesty, if i had the money i would go with a frame mount set too. Simply because if these hit anything, they're likely to bend the door sill (it did that on the back passenger side on mine when i snapped it off on a rock), and the frame mounts are alot more stout lol

with the frame mounts the side arms bend when you hit something and they fold back (or forward) even with the side of the truck. then i just take the step off and straighten the side arm using a large adjustable wrench tightened up to fit over the steel, then use the wrench as a lever to bend it back in place. once back out i bolt it back together and it is good till it hits something again.
those steps on the 88 have been bent under the truck and straightened out over 10 times in the past 23 years.
when that picture was taken the front of the step was bent up from hitting something.
it is even now.
