Truck steps?

I have run into a situation in which where a relative of mine is having trouble getting in my truck. I have been searching the net but seem to come up with obscure results. I don't want to pull the trigger on an item that doesn't fit right. Do the Bully steps work? What works for you and what costs may be involved? I'm open to running boards and steps. I'm afraid my dogs might get hung up on nerf bars.

Any pics?

Thanks

I have the super hoop steps from carr.com i like them cause they drop down and out. It has a wide step and are corrosion resitant. Easy for a dog to use also. I have a 6 in lift on my truck and my 10 month old basset jumps on the steps then to floor board then on my seat.

If the person thats having difficulty getting in is having a tough time and needs additional steps I have seen slide ladders used on the rear end of trucks but I imagine that you could place one on the side. the down side to that is you pull it out and someone else has to put it up. Its basically a channel iron step up with keeper ears on the ladder/steps. I have also seen trailer RV steps sizzor steps used.

If your looking for something more fashionable then theres all sorts of running boards and steps out there. There is even a electric step running board used for newer models it was shown in this last weeks Sema show.

i've got Carr Hoop II's on the front of my cab. I had all four, but they don't do well when rock crawling, so i snapped the back two off... but if you don't rock crawl, they're great!

All I had to do was drill two holes each step. The steps come with all the hardware, and barney style instructions. You just eyeball where you want the first one, then measure out the other side to match. I think I paid $50 a set (two steps each set). I painted mine black, but they came stainless.

i am partial to the Dee Zee tough steps
they mount to the frame instead of the running board sheet metal. plus at 25 inches wide, they are much easier to hit with the foot than the small carr or bully steps.

they are, and are mounted to the frame. so you can set the height you need to a degree since you have around 5 inches of frame height to mount to.
their only downside these days is the price. they are up around $225 per pair.

side view:

how they install:

kinda hard to see, but here's what's left when they're gone... just the two little holes.
