Speaking of hooking the spring up to the cross member, it can sometimes be a real pain to get the hook end of spring into the slot its supposed to go into.
there are 2 small holes above your master cylinder mounting bolts. the spring hooks into the one closest to the frame rail. about an inch down from the top of the frame crossmember. If I remember right you kinda have to twist and turn your spring end just so to get it in.
The Loop at the tip of the pencil is a large cotter pin that goes thru the hole and is spread on the back side of the crossmember
Are you saying the spring hooks to the loop of the cotter pin?? That would be easier to hook up for sure, but seems like the couple I've seen just hooked directly into the hole on crossmember.
