GB, Do you know what the receiver hitch is off of. I'm needing one for my '57 panel.

It was all I could do to lift it onto the brackets I made. 4x6 I beam,3/8 web thickness. Something a friend gave me about 10 years ago. Measuring the top of the bed off the floor, it is still 3" higher at the tailgate than the headboard, so I guess it didn't make it squat too much. I'll finish it up this week after work, maybe the final touches while the bird is in the oven......

The hitch was off some generic truck that had a 38" wide frame. It was local and cheap.I had to jump through extra hoops to get it to work with the 34"frame width. I have seen them around with the proper spacing, I guess you should look for one from a one ton vehicle, then it would bolt right up. Look at craigslist.
