Good choice. I installed one just a couple of weeks ago. Only takes about a half hour and looks great.

Be sure to hook up the line BEFORE the heater control valve if you have a crew cab truck.

I got to do it twice.

ON EDIT: THE PICS ABOVE ARE REVERSED. The second pic labeled "not this" is the correct location for the T. Sorry for the mix up!

me as well

what is the difference? my filter gets hot enough to burn me very quickly. only thing I can think is that I am reverse flowing the heater core. it is still filtering coolant though. You can see it spraying into the reservoir.

but yeah, to replace that hose? If I'm wrong, I'll change it

If your a little wrench savvy you can make your own. I went to a class 8 truck shop, bought a filter head and 3 fleet guard filters (WF2077 I think) then 6ft of 3/8in heater hose. Then to home depot for some pex fittings and a ball valve. Took it all home and fabbed up a mounting bracket. I used the instalation instructions from an aftermarket kit to make sure I knew how to hook up the lines the right way. Total cost to me was about 75 bucks, and I got 3 filters instead of 1. I used a piece of dimond tred steel that I painted black came out pretty nice.
